Teaching experience
Ed has been a tutor since his time in the Lower Sixth. He has a track record of providing students with rigorous academic and personal support. A strong believer in the power of goal setting and strategic educational planning, his sessions are built around developing students’ intellectual capacities and enhancing their confidence to learn and succeed. He is always empathetic about, and understanding of, students’ academic struggles, having been tutored in Mathematics, English, and Science at different points throughout his own educational journey.
All of Ed’s students attest to his thorough preparation, his engaging teaching style, and the confidence he instils in tutees of all abilities. He is very keen to work with a variety of students of all ages, particularly those wishing to pursue History, Politics, or other Humanities subjects at university.

Extra-curricular interests
Ed received a Full Blue for playing on Oxford’s basketball team and represented Oxford University Cricket Club (OUCC) in the Authentics. He was also Captain and President of Balliol College Cricket Club from 2022-24 and is currently a candidate for membership of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord’s. When not on the cricket pitch, Ed can be found at Loftus Road supporting Queens Park Rangers F.C., where he has had a season ticket since 2009. Alongside his sport, Ed has a keen interest in mediation, religion, and is an active member of the Church of England.
Availability
Ed is available for in-person tuition in London and Hertfordshire, and for residential tuition throughout the United Kingdom and around the world.
For a limited period between September and December 2024 he will also be available for in-person tuition in Geneva.
Ed is also available for online tuition.
