Teaching Experience
Alexa has nearly a decade of experience helping students achieve their academic potential. At just 16, she founded the volunteer organization Students Count, a peer-to-peer math tutoring organization in her school district that continues to operate today eight years later. Alexa has worked with hundreds of students across subjects such as Math, English, Literature, History, Physics, SSAT/ISEE, SAT/ACT preparation, AP Test prep, and more. She has taught internationally in countries like Korea, Chile, Peru, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, bringing her expertise to students worldwide.
Alexa holds a summa cum laude degree in Government from Harvard University, where she graduated in the top 1% of her class. While at Harvard, Alexa started a program in 2020 for incoming first year students with the Harvard Dean of Students Office focused on the transition between high school and university life. This program receives hundreds of applications from incoming Harvard freshmen every year, with only 100 students accepted to this special training program each fall. As the co-founder and executive director, Alexa mentored nearly 300 students during her time in college.
Outside of her time as a tutor, Alexa has worked in the legal field as a legal analyst and recently finished up her time working for the Domestic Policy team at The White House. While working at the White House, Alexa’s policy portfolio included reproductive rights, inflation and unemployment, affordable housing, gun violence in schools, and climate-related disasters in North Carolina and Florida.
