Teaching experience

Ella has now been tutoring for 6 years. She began teaching privately when she was still a school student herself, and she has never lost the ability to relate to, and connect with, the perspective of students. Ella prides herself on her ability to engage students who struggle to focus on the subjects they are tackling. She has developed a strong technique in rapport building; her relationships with her students are, as a result, always characterised by mutual friendliness and trust.

As an Oxford graduate and a Clinical Medicine student, Ella is experienced in helping students attain excellent outcomes in their public examinations and their applications to read Medicine at university.

Testimonials

‘Ella tutored me for the GCSE Sciences and confidently taught me the content of the courses by clearly articulating the explanations I needed, which helped fill any gaps in my knowledge. Her lessons were always well-organised and had clear objectives, which we almost always achieved during the hour due to her effective teaching style. Through the interactive lessons she planned, she also taught me exam technique and helped me refine how I approached exam questions, making me feel far more confident in my knowledge and reassured about Science exams in general. I have always felt comfortable and well-supported during our lessons and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Thanks to her, I achieved ‘9s’ in all three Sciences.’ — GCSE student

‘You have a real talent for engaging reluctant learners. We have been so grateful for all your support and hard work. Thank you so much for everything.’ — Mother of Year 8 student

‘I needed extra support with Triple Science as there were gaps in my learning after being moved into top set and I wasn’t sure if I was going to get the grades I needed. Ella was prepared to each lesson with a detailed run through of what was to be understood in a topic and it allowed me to look at difficult exam questions in a more sophisticated and knowledgeable way.’ — GCSE student

‘Ella was encouraging and reassured me that I could pass these exams with flying colours. She was really supportive and when I finally got my grades back I got over what I needed and she was delighted for me.’ — GCSE student

‘I really want to say a sincere thank you for all you’ve done for our son. He’s had other tutors but your sessions were always the ones he looked forward to and got the most from. You’ve definitely developed a great bond. It’s been great having you on board and we’ll definitely keep in touch with how he does. I’ll be recommending you to anyone looking for a top class Science tutor.’ — Mother of a GCSE student
