Teaching experience
Maia is a highly qualified tutor, with over four years of tutoring experience.
Caring, personable, and inspiring, Maia focusses on boosting children’s personal confidence whilst simultaneously supporting them through their academic challenges. In Maia’s view, the surest way to improve a student quantitative performance – and overall attitude towards a subject – is by understanding what study methods work for them. As a result, Maia makes it a priority to carefully ascertain her students’ strengths and deficits and to devise a bespoke educational approach for each child with whom she works.
Maia’s students have won places at first-class U.K. Independent Schools, including St Paul’s and Merchant Taylors’ School. Many have also attained superb public examination results at GCSE and A-Level. Maia prides herself on having helped every student with whom she has worked attain a public examination result at least 3 grades higher than the outcome of their mocks.
She also boasts an impressive track record when it comes to university applications, with recent students receiving offers from the University of Oxford and the Royal Welsh School of Music and Drama.

‘Maia helped me to plan, adapt and re-draft my personal statement for my drama school applications. She gave nuanced and detailed feedback based on the drama school application process and gave me a very helpful mock interview. Our worked focused on our conversations about the message I wanted to put across and who I was as an applicant, and Maia always planned our sessions with a clear goal in mind. She was incredibly organised and well prepared; she had my drafts back to me within a few days and ensured I was able to submit my application well within the UCAS deadline.' — Year 12 student
