Teaching Experience

Olivia is an experienced tutor specialising in Religious Studies, Drama, and English Literature. She also specialises in University applications for Sixth Form students, particularly for admissions to Oxbridge. Two students she tutored last year successfully gained admission to the University of Cambridge for degrees in Law and Theology, respectively. She has held Personal Statement workshops, hosted mock-interviews, and provided extensive feedback on written work and essay submissions for these candidates.

Described by past students as engaging, inspiring, and committed, Olivia works tirelessly to not only boost her students’ results, but also to equip them with the tools of self-discipline and motivation that will enhance their academic performance and attitude in a broader sense. Striving to make each session as engaging for her students as possible, Olivia works to find ways to connect the academic subject to her students’ own interests, aiming to spark an intellectual curiosity in her students that they may carry with them above and beyond their sessions.

Olivia sees it essential to take a bespoke and personalised approach for each student with whom she works. She tailors each session to the specific needs of the student, working not only towards academic success but also to cultivating a deeper appreciation of the subject and to rebuild confidence which may well have been knocked historically.

Extra-curricular interests

Alongside her degree, Olivia enjoys being involved in theatre, having acted in over a dozen plays at University (including a production of Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ which toured multiple venues across Europe all throughout December 2023, culminating in a home-run in the UK in January 2024). This summer, she spent a month’s residency performing in a brand-new play at the Edinburgh Fringe which received multiple 5-star reviews, while last summer, she spent a month sharpening her technique at the two drama schools of RADA and LAMDA.

Olivia relishes any and all opportunities to participate in the arts, whether that be through acting in, or even directing productions. Olivia enjoys singing at various gigs and events and is also a keen member of her college’s netball team. She enjoys fitness, identifying as a Pilates-enthusiast, a relatively slow runner, and frequent gym-attendee.

With half of her family living in Singapore, Olivia enjoys regular FaceTimes to catch up with her family on the other side of the globe and visits them in the summer months. Spending time with family (including her very naughty miniature dachshund, Arthur) is of huge importance to Olivia.
